As Dreams Models Next International Competition 2022/2023 rolls out its 14th edition, one of the contestants, Destiny Mankwe has expressed joy at being among the 10 shortlisted, saying it’s his dream come true and a stepping stone to success.
While urging his teeming fans to keep supporting him, Mankwe, who is also a singer, entrepreneur and song writer, believes he can win the competition and as a super model wield significant global influence where youths can look at his grass-to-grace story and be inspired.
The Ebonyi native however said his career path to being a model has not been an easy one. He said he received his first break as a teenager with Tonix World of Fashion, Benin City in 2013/2014 and took part in fashion runway shows and other modelling competitions.
His words: “I felt really excited and glad that I was shortlisted among the first top 10 in DREAMS MODELs NEXT INTL COMPETITION 2022/2023; of a truth I felt my dreams were begining to unfold.
“I faced many challenges, discouragement even, before getting into the top 10; It wasn’t easy convincing my fans to vote me. They all believed I wasn’t serious, but when they saw proof that I wasn’t joking I started having support from many of my fans.”
Aside his fans, Mankwe listed super models the likes of I.K Ogbonna, Alex Okubor and particularly King Daniel Isong popular known in decades nickname as Kingmodel, CEO of Dreams Models, for encouraging his dream.
Stressing that winning the contest is a stepping stone to greater success, Mankwe said, “If I win the crown,I am definitely not going to stop there until I get to the top of the world’s best models. And the crown will give so many reasons to all discouraged souls out there not to give up their dreams and aspirations, believing they can do it just as I did.”
Dreams Models competition is an epic modelling contest for both male and female. Winners and runners-up, with all available prizes, awards, trips to Ghana, Kenya and Calabar; as well as receive modelling contracts.
