Ivan Omhonrina a two-year old who had lost her life during the operation by the officials of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) at Okpanam in Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State has drawn the attention of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In a statement released by his media aid, Dele Alake in the late hours of Tuesday 18, July, the President has directed that the (NDLEA) speedily investigate the case, as the child did not deserve the fate he got.
The President further charged the security operatives and agents to be more professional and careful when conducting their operations expressing his sadness over the child’s untimely death while sympathizing with Eronmonsele who was also injured due to the incident, and has been hospitalized receiving treatment.
According to the NDLEA authorities, the operation was not intended to have ended the way it did as it was not intended to come out as stray bullets.
