President Bola Tinubu on Friday, expressed his commitment to overseeing the revival of the Nigerian economy to benefit a vast majority of its citizens.
He made this declaration during a meeting at the presidential villa in Abuja, where he met with the Board of Trustees of the All Progressives (APC) Professionals Forum. The meeting was headed by former Bauchi State Governor, Mallam Isa Yuguda.
“This economy must recover for the good and greatest number of Nigerians, and we are seriously committed to seeing through a change for the better,” he said.
President Tinubu reassured Nigerians that his administration would spare no effort in its diverse initiatives aimed at revitalizing the economy and ensuring its positive impact on the wellbeing of all Nigerians.
He emphasized the consistent pursuit of growth and improved public awareness regarding policy results, while highlighting the intention to meticulously record and regularly assess efforts in various sectors to validate their performance and share the findings with the public.
“So far, we have taken some baby steps and pushed some aggressive positions,” the President told the APC professionals, who had earlier pledged their support for his reforms.
Expressing gratitude to President Tinubu for his courageous actions in the economic realm, the former Governor of Bauchi State, Mallam Isa Yuguda noted that over two million individuals have been enrolled as professionals in diverse fields since 2018. He added that these professionals are fully prepared to establish frameworks for the mobilization and dissemination of information about government policies.
“Foreign capital is a coward that does not move into unsafe areas, so with your successful interventions so far, we look forward to better security that will attract investors,” Yuguda added.
In a conversation with journalists later on, Yuguda explained that President Tinubu had specific motivations for selecting nine former governors to join his cabinet.
Despite acknowledging that it might not be the optimal decision, Tinubu is of the opinion that these individuals possess valuable contributions that can contribute to the overall achievements of the administration.
