Nigerian Air Force Helicopter Crashes During Mission In Niger.

An aircraft belonging to the Nigerian Air Force, NAF, has crashed.

 

NAF authorities confirmed the incident, identifying it as MI-171 Helicopter.

 

The helicopter, engaged in a mission to evacuate casualties, reportedly experienced a crash on Monday, August 14th, around 1 p.m. in the vicinity of Chukuba village, located in Niger State.

 

Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, the Director of Public Relations and Information, revealed that the aircraft had taken off from Zungeru Primary School and was heading towards Kaduna.

 

Subsequently, it was revealed that the helicopter had crashed in the vicinity of Chukuba Village within the Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State.

 

He mentioned that ongoing efforts are being made to rescue both the crew and passengers who were aboard the helicopter.

 

Furthermore, he stated that initial investigations have been initiated to ascertain the potential factors behind the crash.
