First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, true to her word to host the Super Falcons as true heroes on their return home from the ongoing FIFA Women World Cup Tournament, on Monday welcomed members of Nigeria’s women’s football team, the Super Falcons, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The team’s journey in the ongoing FIFA Women’s World Cup, co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand, came to an end as they were eliminated after a penalty shootout against the English team, the Lionesses, on August 7th.
Recall that in a statement from her media advisor, Bisola Kukoyi, Mrs. Tinubu expressed her immense pride in the girls’ dedicated performance during the Round of 16 match, despite their lose.
The Super Falcons lost 4-2 on penalties to their England counterparts at the end of regulation time and extra time at the ongoing FIFA Women World Cup Tournament.
