Once again, the Osun state government has provided an update to the public regarding the distribution of palliative received from the Federal Government. The state is currently in the process of finalizing the distribution plan for these supplies to be given to residents.
According to a statement by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Hon. Kolapo Alimi, the state is anticipating the arrival of the second batch of food palliatives from the Federal Government.
Additionally, the state is still awaiting the delivery of the last shipment of 600 bags of rice from the initial batch.
Per a communication endorsed by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Hon. Kolapo Alimi, the upcoming second shipment comprises 14,516 bags of 50kg rice and 3,200MT of maize.
Additionally, the statement cites a message from the federal government team, which states the following:
“We hereby wish to inform you that the second batch of federal government food palliative distribution is poised to commence as soon as possible, and you are scheduled to receive 14,516 bags of 50kg rice and 3,200MT of maize”
Hon. Alimi emphasized that the provided information is essential for keeping the public informed about the progress of palliative distribution. He clarified that there is still one outstanding truck containing 600 bags from the initial batch. He elaborated that the state government is in the final stages of preparing a distribution plan.
He assured that this plan will guarantee equitable benefits across all sections of society during the distribution process.
”The Government wants to ensure full delivery before launching out on the distribution. We assure the public of transparency and accountability in the sharing of the foodstuffs to the citizenry, ” the statement posited.
