Abuja – Ahead of the highly anticipated presidential election petition court proceedings scheduled for today, armed security operatives have established a strict security cordon around the vicinity. This extensive security deployment is aimed at ensuring the safety and integrity of the proceedings.
As one approaches the court premises, there are three distinct checkpoints positioned between the Ministry of Finance Headquarters and the entrance to the court. At the entrance gate, rigorous checks are being carried out.
The names of accredited individuals, including lawyers, party representatives, staff, and journalists, are meticulously verified before granting access. Subsequently, thorough searches are conducted on those who have been cleared at the gate.
Inside the court premises, a visible presence of security personnel can be observed actively scanning strategic locations for any potential explosive devices or dangerous weapons. Currently, no unauthorized individuals are permitted to enter the courtroom itself, underscoring the gravity of the proceedings.
The nation’s citizens from diverse backgrounds are eagerly awaiting the live televised proceedings, which will take place at the Court of Appeal in Abuja, the capital city.
