Tragically, a Seminarian has lost his life, as suspected bandits, believed to be gunmen, have incinerated the parish house of Saint Raphael’s Catholic Church in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The Catholic seminarian was killed in the incident due to smoke inhalation while trying to flee from the engulfing fire.
Despite the absence of official statements from the local police and the Catholic Church in Kaduna, it is reported that a considerable number of assailants carried out an attack on the Saint Raphael Parish in Fadan Kamantan, Kafanchan Diocese, igniting both the building and a parked vehicle on the premises.
Stephen Danlami, the late seminarian, tragically succumbed to the smoke during his escape attempt, although other priests within the parish house managed to flee.
The Kaduna State Police Command has initiated a manhunt to track down those responsible for the attack on the Saint Raphael Catholic Church Parish.

According to the spokesperson for the Kaduna State Police Command, ASP Manir Hassan, the bandits made a concerted effort to enter the main building but resorted to setting the house on fire when they couldn’t gain access.
An investigation has been launched to determine the circumstances leading to this attack, with the aim of apprehending the culprits and ensuring justice is served.
