President Bola Tinubu has offered his sincere condolences and sympathy to the grieving family, dedicated followers, and respected associates of the esteemed Islamic preacher, Sheikh Abubakar Giro Argungu, who passed away on Wednesday.
Sheikh Abubakar Giro Argungu, a highly regarded Islamic scholar, is affiliated with the Jama’atul Izalatil Bidi’a Wa’iqamatus Sunnah (JIBWIS) organization.
President Tinubu, in reflection upon this profound loss, has characterized the passing of the revered religious figure as a significant and far-reaching event, transcending the confines of his immediate community.
As stated by the President, the repercussions of this loss transcend a particular community, echoing across the entire nation. This is attributed to Sheikh Abubakar Giro Argungu’s significant contributions to the realm of Islamic scholarship and his acclaimed dedication to promoting moral integrity.
“The voice of Sheikh Giro Argungu will long be remembered for his years of Islamic propagation and advocacy for righteousness. The activities of the cleric through the Islamic group, JIBWIS, where he had served as the Working Committee Chairman, has contributed immensely in guiding a large flock of Muslim youths over the years,” he said.

The news of Sheikh Abubakar Giro Argungu’s passing was shared on Wednesday via Facebook by the late sect leader, Sheikh Abdullahi Bala Lau.
The scholar passed away on Wednesday in Birnin Kebbi, the capital of Kebbi State, following a short period of illness.
He was laid to rest on Thursday, following the customs and traditions of Islamic burial.
