President Tinubu announced on Monday in Abu Dhabi that he and the President of the United Arab Emirates, Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, had finalized a historic agreement. In light of this agreement, the visa ban on Nigerian travelers was immediately lifted.
President Tinubu also revealed that both Etihad Airlines and Emirates Airlines would promptly resume flight schedules to and from Nigeria without requiring any immediate payment from the Nigerian government.
Moreover, a framework was established, resulting in several billion U.S. dollars’ worth of new investments into Nigeria’s economy across various sectors, such as defense and agriculture, by the investment arms of the UAE government. Additionally, a joint foreign exchange liquidity program was successfully negotiated between the two governments, with detailed announcements expected in the coming weeks.
In conclusion, President Tinubu commended UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his unwavering friendship and collaborative efforts to enhance the relations between the two countries to an excellent standard.
