The Eko Electricity Distribution Company has announced the restoration of power supply from the national gird.
The company updated customers about the development on its X (Twitter) handle on Thursday.
“Kindly be informed that power supply has been restored from the grid. Thank you for your patience,” the company announced.
This comes hours after reports that the national grid had collapsed earlier in the day. There was a complete blackout across states in the country, following the total collapse of the national electricity grid early Thursday morning.
Top Society earlier reported that the grid collapsed around 12:40 a.m. resulting in the loss of power.
Spokesperson of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Ndidi Mbah, had confirmed the breakdown and said the company was working on a solution.
“It is a system collapse, but we are trying to restore it,” she said.
“When there is a system disorder, our priority is to see that it is fully restored, and that is when we can start saying this is from them or that is from them, but restoration is ongoing,” Mbah had said in the morning.
