In an emotionally charged moment at his Timeless tour in Manchester, award-winning singer, David Adeleke, otherwise known as Davido, paid a heartfelt tribute to the late singer, Mohbad, who tragically passed away on September 12, 2023.
The tribute, though touching, has stirred mixed reactions from fans and netizens.
During his performance in Manchester, Davido took a moment to address the audience, shedding light on the private struggles many artists face, even as they step onto the stage to perform for their fans.
He shared,
As we come on stage to perform for you guys, everything, you guys might not know what we artists can be going through. We are human beings too. It takes a lot for us to come out to perform and deliver, but we do that because we love you. I want to give a special shout-out to my brother. I know you are in heaven watching down. Tonight, we gonna turn out for you.
While some fans praised Davido for his touching gesture, others questioned why such support hadn’t been extended to Mohbad during his lifetime, especially when he had publicly expressed his struggles.
