Nigerian show promoter and entertainment figure, Paul Okoye, popularly known as Pauloo, has expressed deep sadness over the untimely death of the talented young artiste, Mohbad.
In a heartfelt Instagram story, Pauloo revealed that he had been with Mohbad just days before his passing, during which the singer candidly shared his fears, experiences of harassment, and battles with depression.
Despite the challenges he faced, Mohbad remained resilient and full of life, making his sudden departure all the more heart-wrenching.
Pauloo shared his condolences and prayers for Mohbad to rest in eternal peace, saying:
“I am beyond words just now, was with you in London. You opened your fears, the harassment, depression. But you remained resilient, full of life. A shining and star-like that you’re gone. I’m deeply saddened. Rest in Eternal peace Mohbad my friend.”
The news of Mohbad’s passing had sparked a wave of reactions on social media, with many netizens pointing out that the young artiste had endured bullying and harassment.
One individual, Chef Dee, commented on Pauloo’s Instagram page, “Bullied to death.”
Another user, Commy, urged Pauloo to reveal the names of those who harassed and bullied Mohbad when he confided in him, suggesting that an investigation should begin there.
Mheenarh wrote, “The guy finally got to rest, they made his life miserable for him.”
Uncle Muri implored, “Stop harassment.”
Prior to his tragic death, Mohbad’s colleague and friend, Bella Shmurda, had shared concerning details about Mohbad’s struggles, including issues with his record label, Marlians, owned by Naira Marley.
Bella revealed how Mohbad’s girlfriend had saved him from a suicide attempt.
He also criticized Naira Marley and the label for downplaying the tensions between Mohbad and the management. Mohbad, who had been signed to Naira Marley’s Marlian Records, left the label in 2022.
In an Instagram live session following his release from the NDLEA’s camp, Mohbad had alleged that Naira Marley and other group members were threatening his life.
He voiced his belief that Naira Marley and Marlian music could play a role in his demise, urging his fans to hold the label boss accountable.
Mohbad had even shared video clips of an alleged assault he endured at the hands of Naira Marley’s crew when he requested a change of manager. Naira Marley countered these accusations, leading to a public exchange of words.
