In a wave of nationwide protests, Nigerian youths have taken to the streets to demand justice for the mysterious death of young musician Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad. The protests have gained momentum in various cities across the country, with demonstrators donning black attire as a symbol of mourning.

Abeokuta, Ogun State:
Today, a large gathering of passionate youths stormed the Panseke area of Abeokuta, Ogun State, to protest the untimely demise of Mohbad. Carrying placards with slogans such as #JusticeForMohbad and #WhoTurnedOffTheLight, the protesters voiced their grievances at the skating ground arena in Abeokuta.

Ikorodu, Lagos: Several days ago, similar protests were witnessed in the streets of Ikorodu, Lagos, as young people expressed their demand for justice. Holding placards that read “We no go gree, justice for Mohbad,” these protesters stood united in their quest for answers surrounding Mohbad’s death.
Akure, Ondo State: The city of Akure in Ondo State also joined the chorus of demonstrators, gathering at Alagbaka, near the Government House on Tuesday. Draped in black attire as sighted by Top Society, they made their way through the streets, demanding accountability in the case.
Lagos State Polytechnic (LASPOTECH): In Lagos, a group of youths continues to protest around the Lagos State Polytechnic (LASPOTECH) area, highlighting the persistence of their quest for justice.
Warri, Delta State: Furthermore, in Warri, Delta State, protesters converged on Effurun Road to express their solidarity with the cause and to demand answers regarding Mohbad’s death.
Despite the groundswell of public sentiment, unfounded reports on social media have accused Naira Marley, the owner of Marlian Records and Mohbad’s mentor, of involvement in the artist’s death. Naira Marley, however, mourned Mohbad and referred to him as “more than an artiste or signee but a brother and dear friend.”
In response to the growing public concern, the Lagos State Police Command has taken action by inaugurating a 13-man special investigation team tasked with probing the mysterious death of Mohbad. As the protests continue to escalate, many are hoping that the investigation will shed light on the circumstances surrounding the young musician’s untimely demise.
