During this vital engagement, Governor Buni and the delegation from these international organizations delved into discussions about measures to improve synergy and scale up services in the region, all with the ultimate goal of alleviating the suffering caused by insurgency.

Mamman Mohammed, the Director of Media and Press Affairs to Governor Buni, emphasized the governor’s unwavering commitment to enhancing food sufficiency and security in the region. This commitment aligns with the urgent need to boost agricultural productivity, thereby ensuring food security and fostering economic development.

Governor Buni took the opportunity to call on the international development partners to address bureaucratic bottlenecks in their operations that hinder the swift delivery of support to communities grappling with humanitarian disasters.

The team from the World Bank, led by Taimur Samad, Operations Manager and Acting Country Director, expressed their willingness to support Yobe State Government in realizing its reconstruction, rehabilitation, and recovery processes aimed at improving the lives of the people.

Likewise, the MCRP task team, led by Fuad Malkawi, assured Governor Buni of their continued support in the resettlement of displaced persons and outlined future plans for urban development in the state.
