In the midst of the controversy surrounding the passing of the Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, widely known as Mohbad, Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has publicly criticized his former music label leader, Naira Marley, and his associate Sam Larry.
Recall the 27-year-old singer passed away last Tuesday and was laid to rest, but his death has sparked ongoing discussions, with many individuals accusing Marley and Larry of mistreating the late singer after he left Marlian Records.
During her visit to the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, on Wednesday, Iyabo Ojo reiterated her concerns about Naira Marley and Sam Larry, citing video evidence to support their alleged involvement in the situation. She expressed her bewilderment at the Lagos State Police Command’s failure to summon Sam Larry for questioning despite numerous calls from the public for his apprehension.
Iyabo Ojo live-streamed her meeting with the Commissioner of Police on Instagram.
In the meantime, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has requested the involvement of the Department of State Services (DSS) in the investigation into Mohbad’s passing.
“I would like to assure everyone that I am not oblivious to the sad passing of Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Imole Aloba (Mohbad). We have been closely working behind the scenes with relevant authorities, and keenly following the ongoing investigations,” he posted on his X account on Tuesday.
“However, in order to boost the investigations, I have invited the Department of State Services (DSS) to join the investigation and widen the dragnet with inter-agency collaboration and use of best-in-class technology to unearth the truth.
“I have instructed that all those who may have played any role whatsoever in any
event leading to the death of MohBad be made to face the law after a thorough investigation.”
However, he is appealing to individuals with information that could aid the investigation to come forward.
