WhatsApp: Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Metaverse, is tasked with modifying and monetizing WhatsApp, a microblogging platform where people chat and talk with friends, family and loved ones.
Meta has just announced the company’s plan to launch verification badge for WhatsApp business users, just like it’s other subsidiaries; Facebook and Instagram.
In a media briefing, Meta’s Vice President of Business Messaging, Nikila Srinivasan stated that it will soon begin to make it possible for businesses to receive verification from Meta, which users know they are chatting with the right business.
Nikila highlighted that to become Meta verified, WhatsApp businesses must demonstrate their authenticity to Meta. This would qualify them to receive the verified badge, enhanced account support, and impersonation protection.
Accompanied with the verification badge is the launching of ‘Flows’. This is a feature that will allow businesses to offer the full range of their services without the user leaving the chat.
“For businesses interested in signing up, Meta Verified will come with additional premium features including the ability to create a custom WhatsApp page that is easily discoverable via a web search, and multi-device support so multiple employees can respond to customers. We’ll begin testing Meta Verified soon with small businesses using the WhatsApp Business app before introducing it to businesses on the WhatsApp Business Platform in the future.
For Flow launching, Nikila said;
“With flows, businesses will be able to provide rich menus and customizable forms that support different needs. We’ll make Flows available to businesses around the world using the WhatsApp Business Platform in the coming weeks.”
Just recently, channels features were added to WhatsApp, in over 150 user countries, including Nigeria.
Channels allows users to receive personal updates. Also people will be able to follow organizations, sports teams, artists, and thought leaders within with the channels features on WhatsApp.
Speaking on the launching of channels, the firm said;
“If you are new to Channels, our goal is to build the most private broadcast service available. Channels are separate from your chats, and who you choose to follow is not visible to other followers. We also protect the personal information of both admins and followers.”
