The Baale of Ikorodu in Lagos, Nigeria, has revealed that he intervened to prevent the midnight burial of the late singer, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as MohBad.
The shocking revelation came to light in a video that surfaced online on Tuesday, depicting an elderly man recounting the incident.
Speaking in Yoruba, the Baale explained, “I am the one who did not allow them to bury him they wanted to bring him in the midnight. His father had called me, firstly I didn’t want to answer him, I said you can’t bury him in the middle of the night, not here.”
The Baale’s intervention prevented what could have been a secretive and unusual midnight burial for MohBad. He continued, “They had already brought their shovel here because I was once the chairman of this community, also once a deputy chairman C.D.A of all this area even when there was no chairman I have acted for some days.”
MohBad tragically passed away on Tuesday, September 12, and was eventually laid to rest on Wednesday, September 13, in Ikorodu. The circumstances surrounding his death and the initial plan for a midnight burial have left many questioning the events leading up to his funeral.
