MTV Base, the renowned international music channel, has officially placed a ban on all content related to Marlian Music, a record label owned by the embattled Nigerian singer, Naira Marley. This decision comes amidst mounting controversy and allegations surrounding the tragic demise of one of the label’s former signees, Mohbad.

Numerous radio stations across the country have already taken action by implementing a “Not to Be Broadcast” (NTTB) ban on songs affiliated with Marlian Records Label. This move follows the release of disturbing videos depicting harassment and bullying of Mohbad, who was previously associated with the label. The public outcry and suspicions regarding the involvement of the label’s boss, Naira Marley, and his well-known associate, Sam Larry, in Mohbad’s “untimely” death have only intensified.

He took to his social media handle on Wednesday, September 20, to commend the 24-hour music and general entertainment channel for taking this bold step.

“Mtvbase dropped everything Marlian … kudos to dem,” he posted

DadaBoy Ehiz conveyed his heartfelt sympathies regarding the passing of Mohbad, acknowledging: “Rest In Power IMOLE. All he wanted was make music.”
