Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of Azeez Fashola, widely known as Naira Marley, shortly after his arrival in Nigeria. The arrest is linked to an ongoing investigation into the tragic death of the promising singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad.
SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos State Police Command Public Relations Officer, officially confirmed this news via his verified Twitter page on Tuesday.

“Azeez Fashola aka Naira Marley has been taken into custody for interrogation and other investigation activities…”
Before his arrest, Naira Marley had taken to Twitter earlier on Tuesday to announce his return to Lagos. He expressed his intention to cooperate with authorities in the ongoing investigation regarding the unfortunate passing of his former signee, Mohbad. In his tweet, he also indicated his willingness to meet with the police.
