The ‘Holy’ War Between Daddy Freeze and Pastor Ibiyomie Gets Messier

2 min read

The recent social media war between On-Air-Personality Daddy Freeze and Pastor David Ibiyomie of Salvation Ministries, Port Harcourt is getting extremely messier by the day. The genesis of this crisis started when Daddy Freeze criticized the teaching doctrines of the Presiding Bishop of one of Nigeria’s largest Christian congregations, the Living Faith Church popularly known as Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo.

As a matter of fact, Bishop Oyedepo is the spiritual father of Pastor Ibiyomie who vowed with the last drop of his blood to deal with anybody who dares blaspheme against his ‘father’, Oyedepo. According to the viral video made available on the social media, Ibiyomie attacked Daddy Freeze so intensely, threatening not only to arrest him but to deal with him. He challenged Daddy Freeze to produce his father’s picture alleging that he was born in a ship by a Somalian. Not done yet, Ibiyomie also said that Daddy Freeze’s wife left him because of his erratic attitudes and his lack of vision including his inability to hold his family firm. In a quick response to the message of Ibiyomie, Daddy Freeze affirmed that no matter all the threats to life by the pastor, he would continue to challenge the authenticity of the messages passed to the innocent congregation by so-called men of God. He went further to say that he only drew the attention of Bishop Oyedepo who spoke on September 5, 2020 where he said that the only way to a fruitful marriage is the submission of the wife.

Daddy Freeze was said to have argued that submission is not reserved for the wife alone rather for both husband and wife. The Bishop quoted from the book of Ephesians 5:22 but Daddy Freeze said he correctively and scripturally drew the attention of the highly revered Bishop to Verse 21. Daddy Freeze however, said there was no intention to embarrass or insult Bishop David Oyedepo. It could be recalled that Daddy Freeze has been criticizing many men of God including Oyedepo without the Presiding Bishop responding to any of his many criticisms.
